I dislike mixing usage of English and Pinyin. Most of the time, they are very confusing! Pinyin is just some symbols for pronunciation. I really couldn't see the point of using pinyin on public signs. The reality in China should be if a person don't know the character, he/she would not be able to read Pinyin and use it to help him/herself to understand or be understand. It just like IPA that I don't know how many English speakers know about.
